Wooburn Green

Garden Design

A small courtyard garden to the rear of a new property in Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire.

The existing garden had been created by the developers and whilst functional the paving did not compliment the house and planting was minimal and utilitarian at best.

The client’s brief was to redesign the paved seating area, paths and planting in a more traditional and formal manner to reflect the style of the house and interior.

The existing green-grey slate paving was replaced with tumbled sandstone, edged with brick paviors, along with a new lawn with brick paver stepping stones to access the garden building.  A new paved path was created along the side of the house and linked to new matching paving on the front drive.

Planting was focused on evergreen structural plants with spherical contrasting forms and tones, along with some additional perennial plants and climbers to add seasonal colour.  Lighting was installed to highlight the key trees and shrubs, setting the stage for entertaining in the evenings.
